The club has a huge range of coaching and training opportunities ranging from high level racing coaching through structured weeks leading to RYA qualifications to informal sessions designed to encourage the beginner or novice just to have fun in a boat.
There are two training weeks held during the school summer holidays look at the programme for details for this years dates. You can sign up by contacting the training officer via the contacts page. These are 5 Day courses leading to recognised Royal Yachting Association dinghy sailing qualifications. The Courses are led by fully qualified RYA instructors, adult and junior qualifications available.
The Club training fleet includes dinghies suitable for children from about 8 upwards to adults and include Oppies, Picos Toppers and GP14′s.
On all of our courses all levels of skill are welcome from absolute beginners to experienced improvers.
SATURDAY MORNINGS
A series of seven Saturday morning training days are held following the Open Day at the beginning of may each year. These are less formal and do not lead to RYA qualifications. They are, however, a good introduction to the sport. Contact course leader Lindsay Tosh for more information.
OTHER COURSES
The club is able to run courses in the following: Powerboat and Safety Boat, Rules, Race Training, Beginners and Improvers, Training First Aid, Race Management. Please contact the Training Officer for more information.
